In our “male-dominated” society, we often tend to ignore the injustice this dominant species suffer from. There are many problems almost every man has faced in his life which are not widely discussed among the people.
The males are handed “What a man should do” manual when they are born. This asset of a family is expected to be an obeying son, a caring father, a responsible husband and a successful person. But behind these expectations lies ugly troubles he is likely to face in his life. Have a look at some of them!
- FAMILY BURDEN
Where in a family a girl child is seen as a responsibility or burden, the boy child is seen as the responsible one. High performance in academics and six-figure salary is set as the acceptable standard for him. - MASCULINITY
A man is not a man until he knows how to fight, or has a strong physique. They are even mocked on their masculinity if they don’t perform “well” enough sexually with their partners. For some people having a beard is also an important factor to qualify as a man.
3. VIOLENCE
Many a time, the boy child is beaten mercilessly by his parents and teachers. Violent cases of ragging against boys cannot be neglected. We cannot deny the fact that males too are tortured both mentally and physically.
4. DEPRESSION
Cases of depression are found more in males. Believe it, boys do cry. From the very beginning, they are taught to be strong. Being emotional is something girls do. We forget that males are also humans and they have the right to express their feelings.
5. MARITAL CASES
Not every man is a cheater. He can be a victim, too. There are many cases where males are attacked wrongly by their partners to seize his property and money. They are a victim of false blackmailing which results in huge mental pressure.
Our society fails to consider the possibility of different options a child can opt for. We tend to look at one side of the story and ignore the other. We should take out a moment to realize that injustice is not gender-biased and can happen to anyone.
