Some Unknown Happenings During Menstrual Cycle

written by She Wings 28/03/2019
Some Unknown Happenings During Menstrual Cycle

To know an unknown is always human quest and when it happens with girls every month, it really becomes more interesting. Yes, it is nothing but talking about period which is a private issue. But, there lies many unknown facts behind such menstrual cycle that one should know and may make feel one awe too!

There are 10 unknown happenings given below….

  1. What is actually happens during Period?

Period should never be a shame while this whole menstrual cycle is designed to make you pregnant. When ovulation happens, an egg is released from the ovaries and moves to the fallopian tubes, where it can meet with sperm and get fertilized. Meanwhile, your body also gets ready to produce the hormone named progesterone, which helps to thicken the lining of the uterus and makes  ready for a fertilized egg to implant. But if no pregnancy occurs this month, those progesterone levels drop and that thickened uterine lining casts off. And yes, it is Period actually.

  1. During the birth control if you not get no period ultimately then it is really fine and healthy symptoms.

Hormones basically doesn’t feel to produce more progesterone while

someone uses something like the pill, the IUD etc. Then period will become a little different also. Without the addition of progesterone, one can’t build up much of a lining each month that means period tends to be a lot lighter. It may be basically a pretender period, that has little or no bleeding while one uses the pill or implant or IUD. Then it is really healthy and fine.

  1. It’s fine to skip your period with the help of birth control .

During the taking of birth control back-to-back without a period week, one can get some headway in bleeding .That’s actually nothing bur continuous birth control methods act like Seasonable work. Surprisingly,  it can be really helpful for people who undergo horrible periods or PMS symptoms.

4.Dark or brown period blood doesn’t always give a signal of death.

A little change in something makes people afraid of. Our basic instinct wants to immerse with a regular healthy issues. So, the sudden change in the colour of  blood makes you afraid of but you shouldn’t. It is said that “Bright red generally means more active bleeding. If it’s brown it means it’s been sitting around for a while in the vagina.”

  1. A missing period isn’t always a sign of pregnancy…but it usually is.

It is generally believed that a missing period (if you’re of childbearing age) can be a sign of pregnancy which is not always the obvious reason, it can be MIA. Stress, weight changes, extreme diet, sudden exercise also can be the causes of missing period or late period. Before creating panic or enjoying,  let’s confirm the pregnancy  by the help of a doctor.

  1. To take an OTC pain reliever before the starting of period cramp is the best way.

Prostaglandins causes cramps actually. It releases during the period. But if one takes an anti-inflammatory, it can block the production of more prostaglandins. Hormonal birth control can help to check prostaglandins when one feels severe cramp.

7.PMS is serious matter, it is hormones’ fault.

One can get monthly moodiness, migraines, diarrhea, exhaustion, anxiety etc. which might be related to the hormonal changes that occur during your period. But, Of course, if these things occur again in the other times of the month, it might not be all your period’s fault. In that case, one should go to  a doctor for consultancy.

8.Period in every month doesn’t necessarily mean one is ovulating.

Having a monthly period does not give any guarantee of one’s fertility or ovulation. It means that one has period every month regularly but doesn’t release an egg every month. This case happens for anyone who takes hormonal birth control, and it can also be the case for those people who have irregular cycles. For such case, one should take a doctor’s consultancy for getting pregnant.

9.Occasional irregularities aren’t a big deal, but continuous irregularities must matter. It is considered as a problem.

If one gets an unanticipated periods, then it is not a cause for concern. But if one undergoes  this situation irregularly, one should talk to her doctor about it. Any Medical issues can be responsible behind this scenario, like a thyroid condition or PCOS, or it could be stress also just. Such irregular periods may indicate that one is not ovulating.

  1. Having period while pregnant is kind of possible.

Almost a third of women report about bleeding in the first few months of their pregnancy which is not a real period. So it seems an awful like a period and must confuse people.

About Us

SheWings is a social movement to spread awareness about menstrual health among homeless, low income women and teens. Menstruation is a natural process. However, in most parts of the country it remains a taboo and is rarely talked about. We believe that no one should go without menstrual hygiene. We are a social enterprise to break the taboo about menstruation. We don’t need to speak in ‘low tones’ about menstruation. Let’s make as much noise as we can!
