A choice should be given priority whether it is related to love or life or anything else. If people is satisfied with their choice and can live a happy life with it, it should be appreciated. But, the problem lies here when people make their choice against the so-called flow of made by the society’s rule. It becomes hard for the society to accept unusual thing and make it more critical that can compel anyone to commit suicide even. Yes! It happens which is a Shame for this society.
A lesbian couple ended their lives by jumping in Gujarat’s Sabarmati river yesterday, after leaving behind ‘suicide notes’ near Ellisbridge. These two married women not only ended their lives but killed the three-year-old daughter of one of them by plunging into the water on Monday. The fire brigade team drained out bodies of Asha Thakor and Bhavna Thakor who were found floating on the river near Gujarat Bazaar side. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old and 30-year-old respectively.
According to an official, “The two women committed suicide due to complications arising out of their lesbian relationship.” A message dropped on a disposable plate near the Sabarmati river written in red lipstick saying that, “We have left this world to live with each other. The world did not allow us to stay together. We did not have any men with us,”.
The women from Bavla town near Ahmedabad expressed their anguish at the society’s resistance to their relationship. They added that “This world did not allow us to stay together. When will we meet again? When will we meet.. perhaps in the next birth… we will meet again.”
“After community members took a strong objection to their relationship, they had decided to run away from their homes to get rid of the societal pressure. On June 8, they left their houses with Megha to start a new life but ended up committing suicide,” sources informed. It also added that the women were in a relationship for past six to seven months when they started working together in a factory in Bavla.
MA Singh, police inspector, Sabarmati riverfront (west) told, “Early on Monday, police received a call that bodies of two women and a girl were floating on the side of Gurjari Bazaar. We found khaman (snack) from their bag, which revealed that they had fed Megha before throwing her into the river. Bhavna was identified from the Aadhaar card found in her bag and her relatives were informed about the death.”
Change is beautiful if anyone can carry it and accept it properly. So, from now it is better to stop criticizing every new thing which you can not accept easily, Society.
