Nowadays, girls irrespective of their ages become beauty conscious. Such consciousness is always appreciable. To take care of your own beauty should be the priority in your daily hectic scheduled. So, sort out a little time of your own. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder is known to all. But, it does not necessarily require another beholder always. Be your own beholder of your beauty and keep going with it. Generally, there remains no such kind of restriction regarding the management of your beauty in your home such as make-up, hair drying etc.
But, there are kinds of restrictions for the first-mom. It is basically during pregnancy while most of the women overlook things that should take care of; like your make-up regime for instance. There are many reasons why doctors advise pregnant women to avoid dying their hair or applying make-up.
See below and know how cosmetics can affect your body and baby silently :
Most cosmetics that are being used for make-up have access to the inner regions of the skin and can reach the placenta through the bloodstream. So, it’s better not to use the products like that this time. A well branded make up products could be an excellent product but never during your pregnancy. Make sure that it is not composed of Beta hydroxy acids, BHA, Salicylic Acid, Retinoids, etc. Rather, try something which is more natural, organic or mineral-based.
These are considered to be awesome as it helps in increasing the blood flow and volume. Wax isn’t absorbed by the skin. More clearly, it can be said that wax has no negative effect on the inner skin. However, you must be aware of any irritation that you may receive as you are pregnant. At that moment a body must confront several changes. For hair-removal creams, avoid Barium Sulfide powder or Calcium Thioglycolate.
Tanning beds emit harmful rays from the UVA light and increase your body temperature which could harm both your baby and you. Also, avoid spray tans as they create fumes.
If you have dark skin or melasma, then you must avoid soy-based cosmetics. Creams or lotions that contain soy are not harmful, but soy can leave your dark and blotchy which is dubbed as ‘mask of pregnancy’.
Pregnancy might be the cause of your acne which is irritating as well as frustrating. You’ll want to avoid BHA, Differin, Beta hydroxy acid, Tretinoin and all Retinoids that are to be left on your face, like masks and gels. Instead, try using more natural options, which contain benign options like glycolic acid.
The application of salicylic acid must be avoided during pregnancy as it has an aspirin-like effect, which can lead to birth defects and other complications.
Caring For Your Skin:
A skin has pores, and any topical application will percolate through the deeper layers and make way into your bloodstream. Let alone a moisturizer or a facial cream that you apply and leave; a face wash that happens to be on your face for few seconds is absorbed by your body. The same applies to anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing creams which contain high doses of Vitamin A that can hinder your baby’s development. So, creams could be harsh on the baby inside you.
Applying Hair Dye During Pregnancy:
There remains a biological logic while doctors ask you not to dye your hair during pregnancy. When you expose your scalp to the range of chemicals in the hair dye, you are exposing your pores to these chemicals. Generally, it may seem too harmless, the chemicals are slowly, but surely, making their way into the bloodstream, and possibly even into the placenta. But, you can opt for safer options to keep your hair beautiful. Use a low or no ammonia hair dye. Use a low or no peroxide hair dye. Choose highlights instead of all over colour. Choose salons that use higher quality products. Try to use organic or pure ingredients.
So, take care and concern of above mentioned all these which will keep both your body and baby safe and sound.
