Amazing Benefits Of Raisins Every Woman Should Know Definitely

Raisins rank at the top position as one of the most important dry fruits. Though they are small in size, still they are loaded with immense health and medical benefits. But many people are still unaware of the benefits of raisins which are packed withĀ energyĀ and rich inĀ fibre,Ā vitamins, andĀ minerals.

The shrivelled yellow, brown, or purple morsels known as raisins are actually grapes that have been dried in the sun or in a food dehydrator. Raisins are commonly used as a salad topping as well as in mixed into oatmeal or in yoghurt or in granola or cereal. Raisins are naturally sweet and high in sugar andĀ calories, but they’re beneficial to our health when eaten in moderation. In fact, raisins can aidĀ digestion, boostĀ ironĀ levels, and keep your bones strong.

Let’s concentrate on some of the most surprising health benefits of raisins.

Prevents acidity:Ā Raisins help to fight the problem of acidity. Acidity is one of the most common problems of every 4th person in India. It contains potassium and magnesium which helps to get rid of the inflammation in the stomach. Not just this, it also prevents the possibility of diseases like joint pains, kidney stones and provides relief to many heart-related diseases.

Makes digestion strong:Ā Raisins are healthy for stomach and digestion process. The presence of fibre helps to get rid of the problem of constipation. It also aids in making the bowel movement normal. Fibres also help to secrete the water intoxicants away from the body.Ā One-half cup of raisins will give you 2.7 grams of fibre, or roughly six to twelve per cent of your daily needs, depending on your age and gender.

Fibre helps aid your digestion by softening and increasing the weight and size of your stool. Bulkier stools are easier to pass and can help prevent constipation. Fibre also helps keep you full for longer because it slows down the emptying of your stomach.

Helps to treat various infections:Ā Raisins are anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant in nature as they contain polyphenolic phytonutrients that help to fight the bacterial and viral infections in the body. Therefore, consumption of raisins is extremely beneficial to safeguard the body from routine infections.

Healthy for eyes:Ā As raisins are antioxidants in nature, they help to maintain the healthy vision of the eyes. They contain polyphenolic phytonutrients that are helpful in fighting eye infections.

It also helps in protecting the eyes from various eye-related diseases like a cataract, blurred vision.Ā One-half cup of raisins has about 216 calories and 42 grams of sugar.Ā High amounts of sugar and calories are pretty typical of dried fruit, which is why keeping an eye on how many raisins you are eating in one sitting is key.

Prevents from cancer:Ā Raisins help the body by protecting it against the cancer cells. It controls the movement of the free radical cells. Thus, reduces the chances of colon cancer or any other kind of cancer cells that might grow into the body.

Good for dental care:Ā Raisins prevents tooth decay. It also prevents the mouth from bacteria that produce a foul smell. Raisins are rich in calcium, thus they are good to prevent teeth from breakage and decaying. There is boron in the raisins that prevents the building up of germs inside the mouth. As a whole, raisins are extremely beneficial for oral dental care.

Prevents Anaemia:Ā Raisins are a good source of iron. One-half cup of raisins contains 1.4 milligrams of iron. That’s about 7 per cent of the recommended amount for most adult female and 17 per cent for adult men. Iron is important for making red blood cells and helping them carry oxygen to the cells of your body. You need to eat enough iron in order to prevent iron-deficiency anaemia.

Strong bone:Ā Raisins contain a high amount of the trace element boron. Boron works with vitamin D and calcium to keep your bones and joints healthy. It also plays a role in treating osteoporosis.

Postmenopausal:Ā Raisins have about 36 milligrams of calcium per 1/2-cup serving. This translates to about 5 per cent of your daily needs. Calcium is essential for healthy and strong bones and teeth. If you’re a postmenopausal woman, raisins are a great snack for you because the calcium helps prevent the development of osteoporosis, a disorder characterized by bone loss that usually occurs as you age.

A study published in the Journal Of Strength And Conditioning Research found that raisins were just as effective as a brand of sports jelly beans in improving performance for athletes engaging in moderate- to high-intensity endurance exercise. Raisins aren’t exactly a low-calorie or low-sugar treat. It’s no wonder they are sometimes referred to as ā€œnature’s candy.ā€

We are a social enterprise to break the taboo about menstruation. We don’t need to speak in ā€˜low tones’ about menstruation. Let’s make as much noise as we can!
